Bent Grass District: covenants & ARC (BGMD)
The Bent Grass Metropolitan District serves as local governance for the neighborhood, established in 2007 and approved by El Paso County. It’s a metropolitan district — a local government entity responsible for building and maintaining neighborhood infrastructure while managing associated debt.
Primary Responsibilities
- Infrastructure and maintenance — Manages pocket parks, open space, drainage systems, and entry monuments through the mill levy collected via property taxes.
- Covenants and architectural oversight — Processes architectural requests, addresses covenant inquiries, and enforces neighborhood regulations.
Mill Levy Details
Property owners pay through mill levy taxation. Current rates: 26.000 mills for obligated debt and 8.641 mills for operations and maintenance. Debt obligation extends through December 1, 2049.
Board Meetings
BGMD convenes the first Tuesday of each month at 119 N. Wahsatch Ave, Colorado Springs, with virtual participation available. Specific dates and times vary — confirm current schedules on the official board meetings page.
